Hiss and Snap nipped at each other as they walked ahead of him, but Estilo paid them no mind as he took in their surroundings with great interest. The mineral veins in Granite Cave were unlike anything he'd ever seen before. Much like the rest of Hoenn, it all felt very strange to him. Almost as if he'd crossed over into an entirely different dimension altogether. One where everything was vaguely familiar... though also noticeably off.

Well, he could say that about the natural aspects of Hoenn, anyway. The cities within it and even its towns were hardly familiar to him. He'd grown up in a world far more... antiquated. Far simpler, some would say.

Suddenly, he realized his Zweilous had stopped hissing at each other. Pulling himself out of his head, he looked up and ahead to find them face-to-face with a pokémon.

Unfortunately for the curious little Cufant, Hiss and Snap were far more the 'bite first, ask questions later' type.

"SKRRRRAEE!"

"ZWRRRA!"

Brothers that were aggressively nipping at each other only seconds earlier suddenly focused the entirety of their aggression on the poor little elephant as they charged forward. Slow and clumsy, the Cufant only managed to steer itself back around before they reached it. Withstanding their bites and pokes well enough, it released a distressed cry from its snout as it tried to run away from the constant barrage of attacks.

When the hunter and the hunted traveled too far ahead, however, Estilo brought two fingers to his mouth and released a sharp whistle. "OI. Come back here!"

The Zweilous stopped in its track, its physical gestures filled with conflict as it repeatedly turned between the Cufant that was steadily distancing itself and its master.

"There's bigger prey in these caverns," Estilo explained with a smirk as he set his hands on his hips. "I know it. Don't bother with a snack like that."

When Estilo had claimed there was 'bigger prey' to be had in these caverns, Hiss and Snap certainly weren't impressed by the lanky fire monkey that came sauntering their way from the other side of the tunnel. As it realized it had come across a wild beast and his pokémon, however, the Monferno took a combative stance and ignited the flames around its body. This, in turn, excited Hiss and Snap greatly. There was little meat, and it would take some time to find it, but that was fine!

Estilo snickered as his hungry two-headed dragon charged forward. As the two pokémon fought, however, he soon came to admire the Monferno's tenacity. It was calm the entire way... collected... precise. Even when the Zweilous had managed to nip his arms and legs a few times, the monkey kept itself poised and balanced.

Drawing out an empty pokéball from his pack, Estilo sighed. "I don't usually do this, but I'm famished and I don't want to leave this cavern empty-handed. So here we go!" He spoke, tossing the ball towards the brave competitor. "Oh, and I wouldn't come out if I were you! They're hungry, too."
